OLD VIDEO ENHANCEMENT

Enhance old video.
Prepare legacy footage for modern screens.

Old home video, archive footage and legacy camera files often combine low resolution with 4:3 display geometry, interlacing or heavy compression. Those properties matter before AI upscaling begins.

Common characteristics of older video

Low resolution

SD sources such as 720×480 can look visibly coarse on modern large displays.

4:3 display shape

Legacy material is often 4:3. Remaster AI uses a 4:3 output target for supported 4:3 sources rather than stretching them.

Interlacing

DVD and older camera footage may require preprocessing before super-resolution. The current workflow includes a HandBrake preprocessing pass.

What AI cannot promise

Higher resolution can improve visibility, but it cannot guarantee recovery of a face, word, license plate or other fact that was never recorded clearly. Keep the original source and treat enhanced output as a derived version.
